Study in Barcelona toward European qualifications.

Spain and Malta are in the EU and the Schengen area. Here is how visas, arrival in Barcelona and offer verification work.

Got an offer through an agent? Check it first.

Send a copy of any offer letter, letter of acceptance, invoice or receipt to [email protected]. eie will confirm whether it is genuine and is not responsible for documents or payments that did not come from eie.

Visa information

Do you need a visa for Spain?

EU nationals can travel freely within EU member states, including Spain — no special formalities are needed.

Other nationalities should check student-visa and residence rules for Spain (NIE / TIE). If you later progress to the partner campus in Malta, Identità handles Maltese visas. The Schengen area includes 27 European countries, among them Spain and Malta.

A visa application normally needs

  • A passport valid for at least three months
  • Two colour passport photos on a white background
  • The visa fee
  • Your letter of acceptance
  • A valid return ticket
  • Proof of means of subsistence
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Medical insurance cover
  • Any other documents the Spanish or Maltese authorities request
Preparation & arrival

From offer to orientation in Barcelona.

01

Before you travel

Aspire Barcelona helps with your enquiry, documents and next steps — and works with awarding partners on acceptance letters for visa processing.

02

Students' guidance

You receive clear guidance before arrival. Get your visa well before travelling and follow its conditions.

03

Airport welcome

04

Orientation

City orientation covers your programme, residency paperwork and life in Barcelona — with activities through the year.

Visa files

A visa depends on a genuine letter.

Once an offer or acceptance letter is confirmed as authentic, the authorities can be advised so a study visa can proceed. That is why verifying agent documents matters.
